About the Artist
PATUNGKOl SA MAnLILIkHA
Alonzo Saclag is a Filipino musician and dancer who is a recipient of the National Living Treasures Award.
He was born on August 4, 1942 and is a member of the Kalinga people and a native of Lubuagan, Kalinga province. He is married to Rebecca Saclag and has nine children.
Saclag taught himself about his people's performing arts traditions. Without official or informal instruction, he learnt to play traditional Kalinga musical instruments and perform Kalinga ritual dance moves.
